BMW M3 & M4 (G80 / G82) Wheel Fitment Guide: Offsets, Sizes & Specs

· Tony Song

Quick answer

The BMW G80 M3 and G82 M4 (2021 on, including Competition, xDrive and CS) use a 5×112 bolt pattern, a 66.5 mm centre bore and M14×1.25 wheel bolts torqued to 140 Nm. Competition models run 19x9.5 ET20 with 275/35R19 at the front and 20x10.5 ET20 with 285/30R20 at the rear. Wheels from the older F80 M3 and F82 M4 don't fit, because BMW changed the bolt pattern from 5×120.

Setup Front Rear Tyres (F / R) What to expect
Factory 19x9.5 ET20 20x10.5 ET20 275/35R19 / 285/30R20 Staggered 19/20 (Competition)
OEM+ all-19" 19x9.5 ET20 19x10.5 ET18–20 275/35R19 / 285/35R19 Factory position, easier and cheaper tyres
Square 19" 19x10 ET15–20 19x10 ET15–20 285/35R19 all round Rotate tyres. The rear sits slightly further in than factory.
Flush 19x10 ET15–20 20x11 ET18–21 285/35R19 / 295/30R20 Fills the arches at factory ride height
Aggressive 19x10 ET10–14 20x11 ET12–16 285/35R19 / 305/30R20 Sits at the guard edge. Check clearance at full steering lock on lowered cars.

These ranges assume factory ride height and alignment. The tyre sizes keep the overall diameter within about 2% of factory. The non-Competition M3 (where sold) runs 18x9.5 ET20 front and 19x10.5 ET20 rear.

Brake clearance: M Compound vs M Carbon ceramic

The standard M Compound brakes clear some 18-inch wheels with the right spoke shape; the non-Competition M3 came on 18-inch fronts. With M Carbon ceramic brakes, 19 inches is the minimum. We check every design against your exact brake package before production.

Before you order wheels for a G80 or G82

  • ✓Bolts: BMW uses 60° conical-seat M14×1.25 bolts. Forged wheels often have a thicker mounting face than factory and need longer bolts. We supply the correct length.
  • ✓Hub rings: needed if the wheel is bored bigger than 66.6 mm (for example, wheels made for 72.6 mm BMW hubs).
  • ✓xDrive: keep the front-to-rear tyre diameter relationship close to factory, and replace tyres in sets.
  • ✓TPMS: move your factory sensors across, or have new ones coded to the car.

Is it road-legal in Victoria?

Victorian rules

Under VSB 14, the national modification code, the wheel track (the distance between the left and right wheels) can grow by up to 25 mm (about 12.5 mm per side) over the widest factory option. VicRoads also limits the overall tyre diameter to 15 mm more than the largest factory size, and the tyres must stay covered by the guards. Flush and aggressive setups can go past these limits and may need a VASS certificate. We'll tell you where your setup sits before you order.

G80 M3 and G82 M4 wheel fitment FAQs

What offset fits a G80 M3?

For a flush look, ET15–20 on a 19x10 front and ET18–21 on a 20x11 rear. The factory offset is ET20 front and rear.

Do F80 M3 wheels fit a G80 M3?

No. The F80 and F82 use 5×120 with a 72.6 mm bore, while the G80 and G82 use 5×112 with a 66.5 mm bore. You'd need adapters, which push the wheel out and add weight.

Can I run 19-inch wheels all round on a G80?

Yes. 19x9.5 front and 19x10.5 rear with 275/35R19 and 285/35R19 tyres keeps the factory look. Or run a square 19x10 setup with 285/35R19 all round so you can rotate the tyres.

Is G82 M4 fitment the same as G80 M3?

Yes. They share the hub, brakes and factory wheel sizes, so the same fitments apply to both.
