A 275 front and 295 rear tyre is a healthy, trouble-free increase. 305s at the rear may need extra work depending on ride height. For 20-inch wheels, lowering is strongly recommended.
Spacers on factory Supra wheels
Owners who keep the factory wheels commonly run about 20 mm of spacer at the front and 15 mm at the rear to sit flush. Custom wheels build that position into the offset, so you don't need spacers or longer bolts.
Before you order wheels for a GR Supra
- ✓Bolts, not studs: the Supra uses BMW-type M14×1.25 bolts. Forged wheels often need longer bolts than factory, and we supply the correct length.
- ✓BMW wheels: modern BMWs share the 5×112 / 66.5 mm hub, so many BMW-fitment wheels bolt on, but offsets that suit a BMW don't automatically suit a Supra.
- ✓TPMS: move your factory sensors across, or have new ones registered.
- ✓Alignment: get an alignment after fitting, especially if the car is lowered.
Is it road-legal in Victoria?
Victorian rules
Under VSB 14, the national modification code, the wheel track (the distance between the left and right wheels) can grow by up to 25 mm (about 12.5 mm per side) over the widest factory option. VicRoads also limits the overall tyre diameter to 15 mm more than the largest factory size, and the tyres must stay covered by the guards. Does the Supra use BMW wheel bolts?
Yes. The A90 shares its hub design with modern BMWs: 5×112, 66.5 mm bore and M14×1.25 bolts.
Do I need to lower my Supra for wider wheels?
Not for 19x9.5 / 19x10.5 at the right offsets. A 19x11 rear and 20-inch wheels clear most reliably, and look best, when the car is lowered.
Will 18-inch wheels clear the Supra's brakes?
