This policy explains the additional written warranties offered by WheelWork Customs Pty Ltd, trading as WheelWorkCustoms, and the consumer guarantees that apply under the Australian Consumer Law.
Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
These rights apply automatically. They operate in addition to the warranties below and are not limited by a warranty period or exclusion stated in this policy.
Additional Written Warranty Periods
The following additional written warranty periods begin on the date the product is delivered:
- Flow-form wheels: 5-year structural warranty and 3-year cosmetic warranty.
- Forged wheels: 8-year structural warranty and 3-year cosmetic warranty.
- Lug bolts and lug nuts: no additional fixed-duration written warranty.
- Miniature wheel and brake air fresheners: no additional fixed-duration written warranty.
- Full carbon-fibre and hybrid carbon wheels: no additional fixed-duration written warranty.
Products without an additional fixed-duration written warranty remain covered by any rights and remedies that apply under the Australian Consumer Law.
Structural Warranty Coverage
The structural warranty for eligible flow-form and forged wheels covers buckling or cracking attributable to a product defect that arises during normal on-road driving within the applicable warranty period.
It does not cover buckling, cracking or other damage caused or contributed to by a pothole, road hazard, collision, kerb contact, other impact, track use, racing, motorsport, competition use, misuse, overloading, incorrect fitment, incorrect installation, incorrect tyre selection or pressure, unauthorised modification, or use outside the product’s stated specifications.
An exclusion applies only to the extent that the excluded event caused or contributed to the problem. It does not exclude any right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Cosmetic Warranty Coverage
The cosmetic warranty for eligible flow-form and forged wheels covers defects in the applied finish attributable to materials or workmanship during normal use within the applicable warranty period.
It does not cover ordinary wear, stone chips, scratches, kerb contact, collision or impact damage, harsh or unsuitable cleaning products, abrasive cleaning, corrosion caused by external chemicals or environmental exposure, tyre-fitting damage, unauthorised refinishing or modification, or damage resulting from incorrect care.
Making a Warranty Claim
Contact WheelWorkCustoms as soon as reasonably practicable after discovering a problem. A claim should include:
- The customer’s name, order number and contact details
- The affected product and wheel position, where relevant
- A clear explanation of how and when the damage or problem occurred
- Clear photographs of the complete product and affected area
- Vehicle, fitment, tyre and installation information relevant to the claim
- Dashcam or other incident footage where available
- Proof of purchase if the order cannot be verified from our records
The absence of dashcam footage does not remove rights available under the Australian Consumer Law. Other reasonable evidence may be considered when assessing an additional written warranty claim.
Do not continue using a product where doing so may be unsafe or may cause additional damage. Do not return a wheel or another large item before receiving written return instructions.
Assessment and Warranty Remedy
WheelWorkCustoms may reasonably inspect the product or request an assessment by an appropriate technician.
If a claim is approved under an additional written warranty, WheelWorkCustoms will repair or replace the affected product at no charge. If repair or replacement is not reasonably available, WheelWorkCustoms will provide another appropriate remedy. These warranty remedies do not limit any remedy available under the Australian Consumer Law.
For a major failure under the Australian Consumer Law, the customer may be entitled to choose a refund or replacement. For a minor failure, WheelWorkCustoms may choose to repair the product within a reasonable time. These statements do not limit any remedy available by law.
Claim Expenses
Contact WheelWorkCustoms before incurring return, inspection or transport costs.
For an approved additional warranty claim, WheelWorkCustoms will arrange return transport or reimburse reasonable, pre-authorised return costs. Where required by the Australian Consumer Law, WheelWorkCustoms will arrange collection or reimburse reasonable return costs.
If an assessment establishes that the product is not faulty and the claim is not covered by an additional written warranty or the Australian Consumer Law, WheelWorkCustoms will discuss any return, inspection or transport cost before it is incurred.
